About the ASA 101 written test
ASA 101 (Basic Keelboat Sailing) ends with a written exam — usually around 100 multiple-choice questions with an 80% passing score, drawn from the official textbook Sailing Made Easy. The most-tested topics are points of sail, right of way rules, sailing terminology, parts of the boat, safety, and knots.
This trainer drills each of those areas as a game: identify points of sail, steer and trim in the helm simulator, judge right of way crossings, click boat parts on a rigged sloop, and take a terminology-heavy practice quiz scored against the real pass mark.
